Villa Dalmacija sits in a walled garden on the southern slope of Marjan Hill, about fifteen minutes on foot from the old town. Built in 1914 as Villa Schiller and later Tito's summer residence, it has a colonnaded terrace around a central fountain, looking straight out over the sea. Sunset that evening is around 7:45.

Before 2023
For years, we kept narrowly missing each other: the same home state, even the same college internship, just a month apart. Then came Seattle, where we worked at the same company in the same building, yet somehow never crossed paths. Always nearby, never quite at the same time.
July 2023
In the end, it took Hinge to introduce two people living under the same roof. asking if the swimming on meant actual laps. Janet replied, and finally, our paths crossed.
2023 to now
Since then, our trips together have become the thing we look forward to most. Here is every trip abroad we have taken together so far.

The quiet stone streets below Marjan Hill, closest to the villa.
Inside Diocletian's Palace, about 15 minutes' walk. Lively until late.
By the sandy town beaches, about 10 minutes by taxi.
15 minute walk
A Roman emperor's retirement palace that became the old town itself. Wander the peristyle at night, when it's lit and full of music.
Right behind the villa
Pine forest, hidden chapels and the best view over the city and islands. Go early, before the heat.
15 minute walk
Split's palm-lined waterfront. Coffee in the morning, a spritz at sunset.
By catamaran
Island day trips for swimming coves, lavender fields and long seafood lunches.

A restaurant, bar or beach the two of you love.
The official invitation will arrive in February 2027. Until then, this page is our save-the-date, and we'll add times, venues and the room block as they're confirmed.
If your children are invited, we will have reached out to you directly.
Yes, you are welcome to bring a plus-one.
We'd love that. Hvar, Brač and Vis are a short catamaran ride away, Krka and Plitvice national parks make good day trips, and Dubrovnik is about three hours down the coast.
No registry, and please, no gifts. Getting yourselves all the way to Split is more than enough.
That said, Kevin would like it noted for the record that points are always welcome. If you were going to open a new credit card anyway, ask Kevin for a referral link. There's one for nearly every card, and it comes free with an unsolicited opinion on which one you should get.
Every referral gets us a little closer to flying home in lie-flat seats.
This is half a joke, and there's truly no pressure. Only ask if a card genuinely makes sense for you, and please use credit responsibly.
